Jovial Board Member Grace Pool ready to Launch programmes that are promising and successful.

Grace is a seasoned Practising Accountant and a Public Relations Manager, who has also founded and runs the Ella Foundation, Uganda. A graduate from Nkumba University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and an MBA (MBA-Accounts); has served in several organisations; been instrumental at the inception, design, development, adaptation, and implementation of strategic plans and policies that have seen the organisations strengthen their internal and external controls. This has not been limited to the accounting sector but also administratively. Grace’s expertise of 20 years+ has been in companies in various sectors [Manufacturing, Printing & Publishing, and Sole Trade & Education Services.] A social advocate for responsible & sustainable living, Grace has put every effort to promote fundraising projects involved in healthcare ventures whether through private organisations such as the Teso Safe Motherhood Venture to government projects (e.g., Ministry of Health and Kampala Capital City Authority – KCCA) and Education fundraising drives such as The Irene Gleeson Fundraising Drive in Northern Uganda (an annual event). As a firm believer in quality education for every child, Grace founded The Ella Foundation Uganda in 2016 (though Ella’s activities begun in 2009); Ella is organisation that fronts for quality education for the vulnerable less privileged children while addressing quality health care for their families as it addresses the issue of sustainable incomes for the same households. Grace thus brings on board rich expertise, public-private leadership, policy formulation, strategic planning & transformation, program development, team building, training and core process management. This will catalyze SAI’s grassroot objectives with the overall SDGs, position us as economic and social development change agents too.  Grace has undertaken a number of online courses in NGO and public relations management as well as currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Project Management.

If one were to ask us what we do at SAI, in a statement or two we would straight away say: “… we pride ourselves with providing catalytic opportunities for men to promote or uplift self-esteem and dignity affirmation toward themselves, their spouses and children.” This is a very loaded statement no doubt. But, let us break it down for you. We assume that males are the heads of households, companies, village councils and take on leadership roles in many cases before women or children are chosen. Men Are Key To Ending The Violence in Households And Communities In Uganda

What Situka Alliance Initiative (SAI) anticipates is a Uganda, where it is possible to provide opportunities for self-esteem and dignity affirmation (SEDA) to thrive.   These opportunities include turning men into agents of good and respectful living. In this short article we also present to you what constitutes the perceptions we identify as negative and those we feel are positive.  We go on to show the consequences of these negative and the positive perceptions to the relationships between men and women. We want to emphasise common conversations around which individuals can promote self-esteem, dignity affirmation and societies which are violent free.
