CEO, Uganda

Situka Alliance Initiative (SAI) culminated from a number of events. One of the events was Kelly Gonzaga Kyagaba visited rural village to implement child protection activities. While there, a need arose which required the participation of the father who was the head and decision maker of that particular household. But he was absent and the women were unable to proceed with further necessary interventions crucial to their own lives and those of the children. This and many other examples like this one motivated Kelly Gonzaga Kyagaba to think about how easy it would have been if the household head had been involved in the education sessions on maternal and child health. This is when the idea for Health Research and Advocacy was ignited in 2014. With time it became a fully blown passion which has led to health promotion in Ugandan grassroot communities.

When men are involved in enabling their spouses seek health care and protecting their loved ones against acts of Violence, they subsequently enable billions of people worldwide to embrace the shared hope and future of the SDGs towards thriving Humanity.

  1. Excellent initiative. For Africa at large once we have men involved in Reproductive Health, maternal and neonatal child and adolescent health, sexual and reproductive health rights, HIV and AIDS prevention and control we shall have solved the effects caused by Sexual and Gender Based Violence, reduced maternal deaths, improved the life hoods of families and have a peace community.
